The holiday spirit was in full swing during Main Street Magic held Saturday, December 7. The day’s festivities included Christmas pictures by SP Photography, a vendor event, a coloring contest, Main Street window decorating contest, an ugly sweater contest, a Grinch meet & greet, a live nativity scene, a lighted Christmas parade, and a Christmas tree lighting with the Moatstown Choir singing Christmas Carols. The weather was a perfectly cool day and allowed tumblers to perform outside for Raymond’s Gymnastics and along with the dancers from Lisa’s Dance Studio.
The lighted Christmas parade was a new addition to the annual Main Street Magic. The parade was lead by Pendleton County’s High School’s football team who proudly represented the county with a 3rd place in the state finish (Go Wildcats!). Pendleton County Chamber of Commerce Executive Director, Ciara Lambert was thrilled with the community’s participation. She’s anticipating an even bigger lighted parade last year as it warmed the hearts of local residents.
As a way to encourage the community to give back this holiday season, the Pendleton County Chamber of Commerce joined forces with Samantha Puffenbarger, owner of SP Photography, and Felicia Harper-Cook, to collect 81 foster boxes and 108 pairs of pajamas. The pajamas were donated to WVU Children’s on behalf of local resident,Virginia Richardson, daughter of Clay and Kimberly Richardson.
