Thorn Spring Park, the county’s 4-H camp for two weeks of the year, is also open to the public with cabins for rent, full hookups for trailers and RVs, and campsites for tenters. Reasonably priced and with large playing fields, Thorn Spring Park is an ideal location for a family or group outing. Large groups can rent the pavilion and kitchen facilities. Adjacent woods and stream beckon naturalists. The park is located 3 miles south of Franklin on Dry Run Road, a quarter mile from its intersection with Rt. 220.
Cabins sleep from 8 – 22 people. Each cabin has its own bathroom, refrigerator, sink and range plus a wood-burning stove. Guests bring their own linens and cookware. Tenters have access to a bathhouse with restroom and shower facilities.
Dogs allowed. Children under 4 stay free. Open all year.
